Also if you want me to get slightly more nuanced about anything, I've had a few friends of mine tell me that the pizza isn't as good as it used to be.
Speaking as a former employee, the pizza quality has always been a bit varied.
so uh, ultimately i would encourage everyone planning to quit going to the drafthouse to go at least one more time just use the mobile ordering interface to order some water and then leave feedback :)
I guess if I wanted to be charitable there is one other explanation I can come up with, which is that Kustermann, who also introduced the chain's movie pass program is just doing arbitrary "technology forward" shit without really thinking about it because he wants to feel like he's doing something
Great cameo from Jeremy Levick
Anyway, I liked The Drama starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, from Kristoffer Borgli, director of Dream Scenario and Sick of Myself, from executive producers Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen in theaters now
It's impossible to read this as anything other than Alamo trying to find places to cut corners by reducing the number of servers that they have working the theater. I've got a great idea for how they could save money.
Take it out of Michael Kustermann's salary 🖕
The one cool thing I will say is there was an option to leave feedback on the page at the end of the film. And I did :)
Then there was something wrong with my girlfriend's order so she had to prod me during the movie for me to unlock my phone and hand it to her to try to get it dealt with, where previously she could have just raised an order card on her own.
This is a very bad system.
then i had to hunch over in my seat under the light under my table to type in my debit card information to pay the bill, consuming my attention for like the first 10 minutes of the film.
ultimately I was able to get it because my girlfriend pulled out her phone and shined the screen on the QR code for me. It was cumbersome finding anything, and then reading through all of the submenus was distracting, as the movie had started, by that point, I missed plot details
I went to Alamo Drafthouse for the first time since the mandatory mobile ordering thing went into effect.
I fucking hated it.
Nobody was messing around on their phones during my screening but it was impossible for me to get my phone to read the qr code during the trailers
7, not that I’m inclined to distinguish. As a 53y/o academic who was taught Oxford, and who has used Oxford for everything he’s written in the last 30 years, it’s incomprehensible. How can people’s minds work that way??
