It matters what kind of growth:
When we use the surplus to externalise cost onto the biosphere, we Overshoot.
But when we use it to expand the carrying capacity, it reduces drawdown.

Yes unfortunately the term gets used for greenwashing a lot.
Of course you're right, the primary pressure results from animal feed. But i percieve this as a result of 'conventional farming', as this allowes us to use resources beyond earths limits.

I'm not supporting animal agriculture here.
I'm saying it's the way we produce our food: even for vegan food, that gets produced 'conventionally' we reduce wildlife. The goal here is to feed the world 'regenerative' and try to mitigate overshoot.

I agree with you: we need to drastically reduce livestock to stay within the carrying capacity of Earth, but not because of moral but because of material reasons: primary goal is to change the agricultural systems.
