impact flash moonjoy pog, live science director Kelsey Young's reaction
The reaction of Dr Kelsey Young at the Science Desk was one of the best things in the feed but I'd also like to acknowledge the dude in the lower left corner of the control room view doing his own little dance of joy during Jeremy Hansen's discussion of his corona observations. #Artemis

So, the hose that the crew was just told to put under the window came about because of a miss in development. At some point in development, we lost track of the requirement to manage condensation on the windows. When we realized this, it was too late to make big changes to the design.
YES shout out to the metric system from Reid Wiseman 📏
Wanna see some extremely excited space nerds?
Reporter @alexwitze.bsky.social has been reporting from #ArtemisII Mission Control and interviewing all the lunar scientists! Very cool.
As part of the flyby, crew will lose comm with Earth for ~45 minutes. If they were to emerge from the pass and never regain comm with Earth, we have a protocol for that - called Permanent Communications Loss - that enables the crew to being able to return to Earth without any communications.
