Oh, and I have done a new commentary for Devil’s Planet too (whilst watching the episode itself). Tim Burrows, Oliver Crocker and I reminisce about the day it was unveiled to Peter Purves, and then celebrate all of its brilliant moments:

As it’s starting a bit earlier and I’m now retired man, I’m watching too. I’ll probably get angry with the blandness and self-importance of it all. I’m not happy that it’s on ITV!

Good afternoon! I’m a third through The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward. It’s a good read but I think I can spot the thudding big reveal that’s going to come towards the end of the novel. It doesn’t help that many of the pull quotes in the book hint that such a reveal is forthcoming.

I read The Girl in a Swing many year ago and enjoyed it. The novel has a supernatural element to it which I liked. I can’t remember much about it now except that I found the climax to be genuinely disturbing.
