Coming along very nicely! 😄
The demo is really almost done.
A tutorial and a massive redraw to unify the art is all that is left!
Gamedev isn't really any more difficult than getting python to count backwards, it's just more time consuming 😅
You do simple things, just an endless amount of them 🫠

Thanks! 🥰
I had to add it for myself if nothing else
I do agree they look great, but not when I'm trying to test the same thing 50 times. Even though they can be dismissed by a mouse click, it's still one more click 😅
Yeah, definitely every game should have separate sliders 😅
It's very simple to implement too, so there really is no excuse 🫠
I mainly added it for myself. The dice make everything just a bit slower so it impedes testing. 🤣
But I assume someone trying to grind out all of the events might also benefit from the game not being interrupted by dice throws 😅
"A gamedev calling themselves “CompromiseDev” was arrested earlier today for allegedly turning off features while playtesting." 😱
Thank you! 🥰
Had to give proper respect to people who might get annoyed at my terrible sound effects. At the moment, many of the sound effects are so terrible that the group includes me 🤣
Indeed.
Also, after making the settings I'm even more confused and annoyed at the many "You need to restart the game for this change to apply" I see in games. 🫠
I get that my game is simpler than most and that for many graphical changes you'd have to reload a lot of stuff, but that's no excuse 🙃
🥰
Getting some of the tedious but important details done!
SettingsUI's done! 🥰
Oh, and you can turn off the cool Dice visualization if you happen to be an absolute monster🤣

Thanks 🥰
Glad you like it 🥰
I'd have to agree 🥰
tbh, I surprised myself with how satisfying it feels 🥰
It's for myself too 😅
I do a lot of testing on the go.
For now it's running in the browser on html5 but making an apk wouldn't be much of an issue either. 🥰
I cant keep myself away from that button 😅
And I can finally satisfy my impulse to roll dice without getting my real dice from the cupboard 🤣
I went with pips after all, but with very different shape.
The numbers were impossible to draw at an angle and in perspective for the tumbling.
I think they turned out decent 😅
Could be actually quite cool!
Imagine the numbers spawning from the dice and converging into a single sum in the middle of the screen and then slamming into the enemy 🥰
Glad you like it! 🥰
tbh, I have no idea what it'd need to get ported via portmaster but it shouldn't be impossible.
For now, the game works without issue on all devices that I've tried it on whether it's windows, android, or even in a browser on my TV 😂
Thanks! 🥰
Still trying to get the Demo released!
It will happen as soon as I stop endlessly coming up with new crucial features(distractions) like these dice 😅
🥰
I've spent longer than I dare to admit just throwing around dozens of dice with my dicetest button 🤣
Thanks! 🥰
I'm not too young myself 😅
Though I was quite horrified when I realised that I had to work with fonts that were 3px smaller than even the original King's Quest... I thought I could look back at old games to see how they made 5px fonts readable, but the answer was that they didn't 🫠
You're right.
I'll also be able to make them more square with numbers.
Yeah! 🥰
And one thing that I noticed immediately: missing 3 times in a row for some reason feels much more fair if you actually see the dice rolling terrible numbers 🤣
Yeah, I'll probably have to go with an alternative d4.
Maybe even have pips instead of numbers. Though I don't really like this first draft. Anything the elongated will probably look bad as it tumbles.
It's all just a misunderstanding too... 😢
There is a way to prevent the confrontation though 🥰
Not a way to romance the mermaid though. Not yet, at least! 🤣
🥰
Don't have to tell that again to someone who has forced themselves into making a game with only 320x180 pixels and 31 colors 🤣
