A fictional conversation between two German cops in April 1939 written by the late, great Philip Kerr. But some themes are eternal.
Let’s see where we can find sensible, shall we?
Esto es más o menos. Sí.
It’s so good to hear from you. And to hear things are improving. Take care of yourself too.
Good morning Sharon. Beautiful evening in Rotterdam, and now a quick turnaround back to London.
Lava in Hamburg…
Look, I know it’s all looking a bit difficult and whatever but surely we can all come together for a moment and enjoy Madrid being 2-0 down at home.
Completely agree. After SGRE I did some work with a Finnish company working on distributed storage systems and it was a real eye opener in terms of what’s possible. If we think laterally, imaginatively, there are so many potential solutions.
Two thirds renewables. Zero coal. Independence from fossils (and the wars to determine who controls them) isn’t just possible, it’s within reach. More renewables. Electrify everything.
Getting there thanks. It’ll be a few weeks yet before I’m running but evrything else going to plan!
I wish it looked like that the very cloudy day I was there.
Good morning. Late on account of the effort needed to get out of house early for first time in 10 days… heading to Rotterdam and hope it’s as beautiful there as here.
Love it.
Happiness is a quiet Sunday evening, a snoozing dog, family around, a good book, a glass of whiskey and absolutely no need to go anywhere tomorrow. I hope everyone has had a good Easter Day.
Glorious start to the day. Lovely light.
Good morning all and Happy Easter.
Good to hear from you Jay. Enjoy your safe space on Easter and take it from there.

What a giant! Sorry to hear of the diagnosis - hope you can find a good way to treat it.
Morning Hilary and ORCs. A bright start here in the far east and this morning to the cricket club to get the covers set up after winter. Then we have my parents coming later for the weekend. Wishing you all a good day.
An important thread. While we fight over the fossils, the fossils are already winning.
Good morning all, and Happy County Championship Day to all who celebrate.
Morning all. A good Henry V in Stratford. Strong on dubious political ambitions and the horrible human cost of war. Back home and prep for the hordes descending for Easter…
‘The one who always looks arrogant in the photos’ is not narrowing it down any.
Good morning all. To Stratford today and once more into the breach…

This sounds like a good plan, Jay.
The photo shows St Paul’s Cathedral in the very near foreground.
Approached by tourist on street. ‘May I ask question?’ He says. ‘Of course,’ say I, all Londoners-are-friendly-really. ‘St Paul’s?’ He says. I point to the cathedral shaped building across the street. He smiles as if dealing with idiot. ‘The underground,’ he says. ‘Of course,’ I say, embarrassed.
Lovely. Enjoy!!
