I hate that this is happening, all of us in fear of what the worst person on earth, who is clearly in mental decline, is going to do.

I spent my entire childhood terrified of nuclear war. the military base near us would practice bomb and shake the house when tensions ran high politically, not helping matters.

just remembered that this morning, for obvious reasons.

as a small child I wrote a letter to reagan asking him not to use nukes, I said something like "your life is over, so you probably don't care, but mine is just beginning and I want to live it"

I just thought to myself, I dissociated so hard I somehow lost an hour.

Update: I got through and his staff told me they “couldn’t say” whether he supports the use of nuclear weapons in Iran.

Whiplash waking up to these photos alongside what the President has been saying. Hard to find words to describe the feeling of seeing these photos. I can't imagine what it was like for the crew to see it with their own eyes. Wow.
