Slow Swirl reminds me of the works of Hilma af Klint decades before his time. I cannot find writings about any af Klint influence on Rothko’s myth-based works. The only link between the two I can ascertain is Friedrich Nietzsche. Are there any studies or writings connecting the two artists directly?
