08 jingpin furun heizhuan. water is a pain - this tea shows every aspect it normally does (fruit, almond, etc), but in a different balance, and one heavily weighted towards astringency. this appears to be a general trait of my current water, even if i dilute it aggressively with 0tds water

Fresh Camellia sinensis leaves picked from my garden oxidizing into a black tea.

I decided to make black tea again, and knew I needed to go harder on the rolling than my last attempt a year ago. I kinda went a little too hard with the help of a rolling pin. I'll figure it out eventually.

l2l 2014 "highest skill" dongding. crazy longevity (been going for hours, usually i can steep out an oolong very quickly). sweet, thick, salivating, clean, aftertaste lingers for a long time, bright profile despite a very dark roast. great stuff
