Essex Badger Protection Group & South Essex Wildlife Hospital do a fantastic job, saving orphaned badgers & releasing them to artificial setts. Builds are funded by EBPG & constructed by their dedicated volunteers. But they desperately need a release site in Essex. Please share

I don't think you're a plonker, & I don't think your brain is being entirely illogical, but it is being....unhelpful!

A cold seems much more likely, or could it be hay-fever? Tree pollen in full force atm.

Plus which TB doesn't spread easily, you need really prolonged contact e.g. living with someone.

Why do brains do this, eh? x

The problem is that I think can be difficult as a patient to differentiate burnout from lack of care.

For me, if a HCP is generally good, it's fairly easy to forgive them the fails which come as a result of system overwhelm. It's harder if there isn't an ongoing relationship &/or you don't get any sense that they are trying. >

a woman in a blue dress picks white tree blossoms in spring next to a babbling brook…as swans & their goslings swim by…blooming trees are everywhere & in the background is a cozy cottage, the scene is a spring pastoral with light blues and greens and yellows

It appears he wrote in the notes that I would collect the orthotics from location X, and never told me this! So, whe.t I went to Kings, the orthotics were in the other location. And the next afternoon appt isn't until May😬

Erm, no. When I saw him in Jan he struck me as a bit of a muppet. New orthotics were due be ready at the beginning of March. I did say I might collect before the appt & asked to be seen next at Kings, where all previous appts (& collections) had been rather than location X, where I was seen in Jan >

Entirely fair. Referral pathways in the NHS are frustratingly opaque!

fwiw I didn't feel the hosp did anything more for me than the optician, so the optician might not be a bad place to start. If they say it's not, then I guess maybe hosp would be more likely to see you🤔

I'm wondering whether there is more than one mother &/or they've done the bulk of the work.

If it's just one mother, all I have to say is OUCH!

a cartoon of snoopy holding a tennis racquet with the words " aa ugghh " written in yellow Alt: A cartoon of snoopy holding a tennis racquet. He throws himself face down on the floor and hits his racquet on the ground, He then jumps in the air with the racquet broken and the word "aauugghh" appears written in yellow captials below him. The background colours cycle through red, yellow, purple, orange, pink and blue.

Now recalling when mum was worried about the risks of cataract surgery. Lovely GP called, I put her on speakerphone (with her consent) & she explained how safe it was.

Mum afterwards: it wasn't anything I didn't know

I am, much more than I used to be, although taking tentative steps back into contact.

My mum is even more so & is even reluctant to seek medical attention, so much so that I've had to ask my own GP a few times. GP is a sweetie, but still...

Yes, it was the same with my dad. At the moment, I don't think there is anything to mark it out as the onset of dementia, rather than normal age related forgetfulness, but nor could I say with any confidence that it isn't. The other reason, which I can't say complicates things even further. Sigh.
