Why invest energy in D&I work when it's being questioned everywhere?
Because barriers are real. Because Python is global. This is what not giving up looks like. georgiker.com/blog/python-...

I added my partner's phone to the router's parental controls. No internet on Sundays. He still cannot figure out why 😆.

🥹 5,600 contributions and $500k!
This comes from YOU. It's a game-changer for @python.org. It proves that Python is more than a language, it’s a community of people who believe in building together.

Thank you to every contributor. You're the foundation ❤️
P.S: @cheuk.dev is glad to keep her hair.

Connecting the Dots: Understanding the PSF’s Current Financial Outlook As the PSF heads into our end-of-year fundraiser, we want to share information to help “connect the dots” and show a more complete picture of the PSF’s current financial outlook. You’ve heard from us on subjects related to our financial position from several different angles recently (a list of those posts is below). We’ve prioritized proactive communications, because we believe in transparency, we have trust in our community, and we value keeping you informed— we know how invested in and impacted by our work you are. We now want to pull those threads together in order to create some shared clarity on the big picture, and, hopefully, inspire you to action to support our fundraising efforts.

As the PSF heads into our end-of-year fundraiser this month, we want to “connect the dots” and share a full picture of our current financial outlook: what’s happening, why, and how you can help sustain the future of Python and the PSF. 🧵

By late August, @elainew.bsky.social and Jon Banafato chose this year’s theme: Synthwave.
That’s when the real fun begins with design, color, and a bit of Python magic.

Right after each @pycon.us @python.org (usually at thank-you dinner), Ee Durbin, @lorencrary.bsky.social, and Olivia Sauls ask the question:
“How can we make next year even better?”
That’s when ideas start flying : Hollywood, haunted houses, surfer sunsets before conf chairs make the final call.

This is my fifth year designing for PyCon US.
Each year I work with a new creative so @pycon.us never feels like a movie sequel. It’s also a way to showcase REAL creative humans from around the world.

It was the right thing to do.
It wouldn’t be worthwhile if we couldn’t stand behind the diverse communities that form the backbone of Python.
It’s tough cos the ecosystem is expanding faster than resources. Sustaining takes real funding and responsibilities.
Our year-end fundraising is coming soon.

With @python.org Grants Program pause, organizers worried about keeping their events alive. As both board member and part of community, it’s been tough for us too. Here's something I put up from what I've learnt in the past. Hope it helps one event at a time.❤️

The PSF has paused our Grants Program Effective August 1st, 2025, the PSF is temporarily pausing our Grants Program after reaching our 2025 grant budget cap earlier than expected. We know how important this program is to many in our community and making this decision was difficult. This is a necessary step to protect both the future of the program and the short- and long-term sustainability of the PSF. (If this moves you immediately to donate to the PSF, we welcome your contributions via our donations page).

The PSF Grants Program has been temporarily paused after hitting our 2025 funding cap early.
It was an extremely difficult but necessary decision to ensure the program and foundation’s near and long term sustainability. Learn more on our blog: pyfound.blogspot.com/2025/08/the-...

Is AI Leaving the Python Community Behind? Georgi’s Official Website

🌍✨ EuroPython just ended.
In many hallway chats and community organisers open space, one issue came up again and again: Sponsorship.
Now that AI is taking the spotlight, I’m asking: Who's left behind?
My thoughts here:
