When I stay at my parents house in Winnipeg, I get to listen to these guys all night. The field outside of their apartment is a major stopover spot for both gulls and geese. #birds

That would be great but until we expand our charging network, I live too far away to go completely electric.
If you’re in the Interlake, it definitely will be.
I think it’s all the same storm. I’ve got my neighbours on standby. They do a good job for a good price and I don’t feel like coming home to shovel.
Here we go again. I got into the city ahead of the storm, but I am hearing that we’re getting just buried up at home.
Anytime :) I'm always available for your nature fact-checking needs.
That's not a ground squirrel. You might want to change your stock photo :)
You're very kind, Karen :)
For the record, I can't dance and I can't swim :)
Sound up! A trio of trumpeter swans giving me hope for spring. #birds
And there's more snow coming tonight.
A bit of Lake Winnipeg ASMR as I take you on my morning walk with me. We’re having a late spring and I’m standing on a foot of snow with probably another foot or so of ice underneath. We had a good melt over the weekend but have frozen over again creating a perfect crust for walking.
Got it :)
present?
Thanks. Photoshop.
Thanks to all of guessed. Many were very close and one bang-on. It is a barred owl and it's going to take me a while to finish :) This is an afternoon's worth of work. #SciArt #WorkinProgress
It is a raptor, but not a hawk.

I will. It's going to take a few days.
Very good guess :)
I can definitely see why you would think woodpecker, but no :)
A short bird's tail. The feathers have alternating stripes of light and dark brown with white in between.
Any guesses which North American bird I'm painting from based on this tail? #SciArt #WorkInProgress
Thanks. It's unfortunately going to be quickly followed up with a snowstorm.
A pudgy little redpoll perches on a poplar branch in the morning sun. Its white breast feathers and red forehead shine in the light.
My yard has been full of redpolls this morning. Not a bad start to the week. #birds
So gorgeous!
Sorry to hear that the weather has been yucky out there too. We've been pretty nice up until today. This week is going to be challenging. I hope things get more spring-like for you soon.
Oh absolutely. It'll break up after this does.
For sure. It's also going back below zero for the next few days. The fog in this photo does make it look extra dramatic, though :)
Thanks. It's okay. I don't mind all that much. I'm just hoping that the snow in the forecast for this week doesn't stick around too long. The roads are finally easy to walk.
Having a fully frozen lake at this time is pretty normal, but this much snow is a lot and it's going slowly.
It's normal to still have ice this time of year, but we got a lot more snow than usual and it only started really melting in the last few days. Unfortunately we're getting more later this week.
