This charity has only ever hit the levels of national success on such a shoestring budget from amazing donations from my old tech friends guilty about things like working on overthrowing democracy at Facebook.

Good thread about curlews on my home turf in the north east of Wales.
The only way forward is to have more open and honest dialogue with everyone included.
Focus needs to be on finding solutions and not just the usual finding fault.
Great thread - this diversity of landuse is the big change and it’s in only a few decades, as you say it is much more homogeneous now and some of those fields will be cut for early silage.
It is easier to blame foxes or crows or forestry …

I’d really like BlueSky to work better - I find the “discover” algorithm delivers much less interesting results than say Linked In or Insta - maybe I’ve got things set up differently on bluesky but it feels less intuitive than the other platforms

This is totally bonkers proposal, it goes in the exact opposite direction to where we need to go 🤦
Restricting timber in construction further would mean we burn through the remaining carbon emissions much quicker.
It needs a robust rebuttal during consultation.
This is a shocking move and makes the UK an outlier with the most restrictive policy on timber construction in the world
In the midst of a climate crisis, this removes one of the best tools in the box for climate mitigation in the built environment - Timber, a low-emission, carbon-storing material
The UK Government is making a move to try and restrict timber from being used in a significant proportion of new buildings, proposing to significantly extend the "external wall ban" which has been in place for residential buildings residential buildings of more than 7 storeys since 2022.
