March the semester started again, but since I did most of the teaching of this year in the previous semester, there is a bit more time for other stuff #ProfAtWork. Also, with more catastrophes impending, more time is needed to prepare.

Ok, so there is substantial progress for the #GCP. The metal construction will carry the upper levels such that our big lecture halls will not have need for any columns, which would obstruct view.
Deep adapation. Und dann ins Handeln kommen.
Du findest das persönlicher als einfach alles anzuzünden?
I wrote up what the Iran War and crisis in the Strait of Hormuz means for the world. If this continues to spiral, we may be heading for a very different world than the one we currently inhabit. The last bit of normal may be gone for a generation.

This was necessary (we actually had this as an item of concern during the deliberation on the European Strategy Update for Particle Physics). Preservation of knowledge by independent entities becomes more and more crucial. Thanks @arxiv.bsky.social

The first five PhD position of our doc.fund project are now open for application - see inspirehep.net/jobs/3129302 for details.
Work with us @uni-graz.at in particle physics and quantum gravity. E.g. with me on the consequences of a Brout-Englert-Higgs effect in quantum gravity!
Our #Lattice2025 proceedings is available! It contains a number of preliminary results never seen before from the lattice. Special highlights are the first electroweak PDFs and a spectral function for the Higgs. All fits nicely into the picture of weak physics we develop - arxiv.org/abs/2603.12882
To all the new followers - welcome!
This account is a fairly irregular mix of stuff from our research into the most fundamental laws of nature, #TalkCollapse and towards a #JustCollapse, and stuff happening around our University.
Bei Bedarf sind meine DMs immer offen für dich.
Ätzend und unfair. Du hast mein Mitgefühl, und was du sonst noch gebrauchen kannst!
Ich wünschte, sie wüssten das nicht.
Terrified not only for kids, but also for my students, and, yes, myself and basically everyone.
We wrote together (with others) a book about what we do, which is, as a preprint, freely available at arxiv.org/abs/2110.00616 - but I am afraid that it is too technical.
The course material is, unfortunately, not freely available, for copyright reasons.
A resource, which will we (I do it together with a philosopher) use heavily in the course is this book, which is actually open access: link.springer.com/book/10.1007...

February was no teaching, but a lot of workshops and visits, and thus talks and politics played a big role in my time as #ProfAtWork. But also a bit of time for research.

Wow, something clearly happens, as the #GCP now rapidly grows! The aim is that the outer shell is done by the end of the year, and we are clearly on a good path.
A little belated, but welcome everyone back for the summer semester! I am looking very much forward to meeting you, especially in my courses on gauge theories and philosophy of physics!
Me, in front of the Jufa Hotel Bruck, where the event tales place. It's sunny.
As every year, at the Austrian Particle Physics Retreat in Bruck/Mur, to discuss news and plan ahead for the Austrian community.
Of you want to know what we talk about, visit the webpage of the event at indico.global/event/16000/...
This is a workshop in the context - and made possible - by our #COST action #COMETA www.cost.eu/actions/CA22... of which Austria is a member.
Ongoing right now @uni-graz.at ! The workshop of @simonplaetzer.bsky.social and myself on how to deal with the production of many #Higgs and W/Z at future colliders: indico.cern.ch/event/159983...
Me, writing my textbook. Live footage.
Seriously, how to explain all of those amazing mathematical connections without forcing people to cyclic reading is...challenging.
Wenn ich das richtig sehe, aufgrund der Formulierung im Brief, sollten aber nur explizit in den Klimawissenschaften tätige Personen unterzeichnen, aber nicht allgemein Wissenschaftler*innen?
Note the associated blog post in the original: Difficulty is different for different people and their circumstances. Doing all at once, and especially starting all at once, is usually beyond an individual's capability. Just start with one thing, and when you get going, pick up more along the way.
