Yesterday at Thursley Common we had a lovely surprise spotting several Wheatears.
There were five flying around their usual spot, constantly flitting about and perching up, plus another one further along the boardwalks. Always excited to see them

Multitasking level: expert.
This little Dartford Warbler was singing its heart out while carrying nesting material… apparently there’s no time to stop the music just because you’re building a house. Gotta advertise and decorate at the same time! 😄

This little Dartford Warbler looked almost shy as it sat tucked amongst the bright yellow flowers, giving me that sweet sideways glance before darting deeper into the prickly cover.

Soft winter light and quiet moments at Farlington Marshes

Two gulls standing perfectly still as the tide slips around the seaweed-covered rocks, calm, minimal, and wonderfully peaceful. One of those scenes that makes you slow down and just breathe.
Nature doesn’t always need drama to be beautiful.

This beautiful ring-necked parakeet was busy foraging among the fallen chestnuts, completely unfazed by me. Their bright green plumage might look out of place, but these birds have made London’s parks their home, and they certainly bring a touch of vibrancy to the season! 💚🦜

The red deer rut is in full swing 🍂🦌
Powerful stags roaring through the bracken, their calls echoing across the park. Some even wearing crowns of bracken and fern, nature’s own headdress for the season.

🌿 Hidden in the bracken 🌿
Sometimes it’s what you almost don’t see that tells the story. Spotted these antlers quietly emerging from the autumn ferns at Bushy Park, a reminder of how well deer can blend into their surroundings during the rutting season.

St. Nectan’s Glen
Yes, our feet were absolutely freezing wading into the stream to capture this, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat. One of Cornwall’s hidden treasures. 😍

St. Nectan’s Glen

Tucked away in the Cornish woodland, this magical waterfall feels like stepping into another world. The walk here is rugged and wild, but when you arrive it’s pure serenity, mossy rocks, rushing water, and an energy that feels almost spiritual. 💧🌿

Caught in the golden hour glow! This garden spider was busy wrapping up its catch when we spotted it, the sunlight turning its web into shimmering threads of rainbow. Nature’s tiny dramas are everywhere if you stop and look. 🌿📸

Nature’s drama up close! Caught this moment of a garden spider enjoying an unexpected dinner guest, a ladybird. Fascinating to watch how intricate (and ruthless!) the web of life really is.

📸 Loving these little glimpses of the natural world that often go unnoticed until you look closer.

Bushy Park Mornings never disappoint 🦌💛
This red deer was completely absorbed in her dinner until she realised I was watching… first the ‘caught in the act’ look, then the sweet pose pretending nothing happened. Nature always has a way of making me smile! ☺️

Bobby the Robin is loving his new life in the garden 💚
He spends his days exploring, & hanging out with the house sparrows.
Whenever I step outside, he flies straight to me, always hopeful for a few mealworms.
Watching him grow in confidence and settle into the wild has been such a joy 💛

The first photo was taken on the day Bobby came into my care, tiny, scruffy, and just out of the nest.

The second photo shows the moment I released him back to the wild healthy and ready to take on the world

Raising Bobby was a real privilege

Fresh out the pupa! 🐞
This Seven-spot Ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata) is just emerging into adult life... soft, spotty, and not quite ready to fly.
Nature’s magic, right before our eyes. ✨🌿

A striking Gasteruption jaculator, a parasitic wasp with serious style!
It lays its eggs into the nests of solitary bees, using that long ovipositor to reach deep inside. The larva then feeds on the bee larva and its food store, a fascinating, if slightly gruesome, part of nature’s balance.
