His speeches are so cringingly bad it makes me wonder whether Stephen Miller is the writer and is intentionally making them that bad knowing Hegseth wouldn't even realize.

Is it same pay and no duties? Failing upwards as usual for this administration.

That's good to hear, because that was my fear too. Intimidation doesn't require a large number of agents.

There’s a lot of people falling between the edge of ‘most’ and ‘outlier. Ignoring them in the argument is disingenuous, IMO.

No, I was referring to the perception of food price changes. Evenly split is not going to apply to everyone.

People who do not spend close to half of their food budget on restaurants and delivery (and there are many in that category), are the ones who will notice changes in milk and egg prices. Just because that’s not true in your sphere does not make it untrue.

Don’t worry, the Olympics will get the version of ICE that wears baseball caps and windbreakers. They save the untrained militarized version for us inside the U.S.

I tend to think “welcome aboard” is more productive than “I told you so”. I get that it’s maddening though. But we need numbers.

I don’t think the surprise is that Canadians are angry, it’s surprise that you think it’s at the top of our lists.

I promise not to ask asinine questions of the wonderful people of Canada about their country, please do the same.

I look at protests as a first step, not a worthless step. You build a community from that and go from there, but buy-in is needed which sometimes takes a level of desperation that is not always there. What the Minnesota people have done is amazing, their community is strong.

Also, I don’t think most Americans are saying ‘not my problem’. And we are a little busy trying to deal with the internal problems that have nothing to do with Europe. Which of course are also important, but maybe not to the extent we care what is being said.

But then you have sympathetic military personnel (at least some will be) who may be told they have immunity, to do whatever they want enforcing those laws.

You’re good, your replies in the comments are appreciated. I was directing this to the person above.

Or are frustrated because we’re doing the best we can and are getting criticism from outsiders. Also keep in mind the media is not reporting everything and in some cases outright lying, so you may not be getting the full picture.

That’s not an honest question.

I was trying to say I think goals are frequently being met - community building in various forms, including gaining organization members. It’s a slow process. Could it be better? Sure.

I would say making attendees feel better about themselves is a side benefit rather than a goal of protests. No they’re not fixing anything directly, but they’re an important step.

My initial reaction was pro late fee, but after reading the comments my mind is changed. A worthwhile discussion to read, thank you.

Regardless of whether the democrats are blame for the current mess, they are the ones we have to rely on to get us out of it, so of course that is who we put our focus on.

One issue with greater than 15 mins is keeping frozen/refrigerated items safe in warm weather. I agree walk/bike is more available most places given that timeframe.

I think most people do want that. For-profit insurance companies, hospitals and pharma do not and are a powerful lobby.

I think for older people it just takes a little longer for the reality to set in, because we have the perspective of having lived decades where the system of checks and balances did work for the most part.
