It's the third one that's particularly hard to spot ;-)

This is the main reason I'm on social media.
I see two sides to this--great economic potential but also serious environmental concerns.
I keep getting twitchy whenever our Prime Minister talks about fastracking developments and getting rid of red tape--these polite terms may mean not addressing environmental issues fully.
I'm 100% with you on that. Removing red tape is ok if it's admin stuff, but it's not ok to remove it if it's enviromental assessments, etc.
No kidding.
Probably just a coincidence
Absolutely. When I served on the Bow Valley Parkway committee in 2012 we discussed bus only visitation into parts of the park. It's now obvious we DO need to move in that direction, sadly.
Ha, we ALL get fooled by AI.
As soon as I saw the muskox fight scenes I knew it was AI, and the YT description just confirmed that. Muskox don't fight like that...they fight more like bighorn sheep rams...huge steps back, then a giant run in to smash their heads together.
Yeah, I couldn't watch it either. As soon as I saw the first scene of a 'cameraperson' following inches behind a muskox I knew it was AI.
So here's a great idea, let's build three all-seasons resorts in or beside the valley to increase tourism even further (says no one, EVER, except for the current Alberta gov't). No, we do not need another giant ski resort, and no, we do not need another gondola. FFS!!!
AI, unfortunately. Says that right in the Youtube description.
Andrew Nikiforuk and @thetyee.ca have blown open the next step in the efforts of Northback Holdings and Gina Rinehart to claim compensation from Canada/Alberta for backing a bad project - the Grassy Mountain Project

Great article, Shayna.
I was lucky, the class had 200+ people in it and I'm sure no one even noticed I never came.
Contrary to what one might think, a class can be passed without ever going to it (other than for midterms and finals). I am living proof! Forestry had some horrendously boring non-wildlife classes in second year.
How was it? Worth watching/listening to?
Great stuff, Max.
Here I argue that just handing out elk depredation tags for farmers to shoot elk is hardly the solution here. There are options like hay yard barrier fencing, on-farm risk assessments, guardian dogs, 3-D fencing, and much more.

As always, a good analysis and perspective from Dave. Worth taking a few minutes to read this one!
Amen to all that!
Awesome stuff, Scott. Thank you!
Astonishingly incompetent.
Could not agree more. He has ZERO reason to be lauded in any way.
The Canadian Cancer Society wants all provinces and territories Wednesday to lower the colorectal cancer screening age to 45 from 50.
Aaron Gunn: If the federal government truly believes in the private property rights of Canadians, they should probably stop opening every public meeting by proclaiming the gathering on the “unceded territory” of this or that First Nation. Doing so reinforces the radical and dangerous legal concept that most Canadians live on “stolen land”. This is Canada. One country. For all Canadians.

He is completely harmless, though momentarily unsettled by the alarming possibility that someone might acknowledge the land before a meeting. Yesterday on social media, the MP appeared to crash out and demand to speak to the manager of land acknowledgements, a position that observers confirm does not exist. Chiefs whose territories make up the riding had two words for the MP - Chillax, Bud. Land acknowledgements have never seized private property, cancelled a mortgage, repossessed a pickup truck, or altered a single title deed anywhere in Canada. They are simply people recognizing the history of the place where they are standing. No one is going anywhere. Canada will survive the brief moment of honesty. Until then, Chiefs across the region continue to reassure the public that land acknowledgements have not, to date, resulted in any land back. Conservative MP for Powell River–North Island, Aaron Gunn, is, uh, well he’s being trolled a bit for his condemnation of land acknowledgements yesterday. Message from K’omoks, Klahoose, Homalco & Tla’amin Nations: “Chillax, bud.” #bcpoli
