I just realized that the #NES game "Gumshoe" featured death blocks very reminiscent of those found basically everywhere in the #AVGN games.

I respect the hell out of James Rolfe. He's inspiring.
But-I think what #AVGN needs to do to make his character more interesting is review PS 1 / PS2 / Xbox games. Those games now are considered 'classic'. It's sad that he's so preoccupied with NES, it's so boring and stale now.
