A poppy flower against a red brick wall (stretcher bond) blooms with scarlet petals that have a dark purple colour at the base and a lilac sheen on some. The yellow seed head is surrounded by a frill of lilac/grey/green stamen.
A “Ten Row” poppy blooming in our driveway - named because I first saw these when I lived on Ten Row in Cuckney, Nottinghamshire.
