It's Already AI 2027: We've Chosen Speed Over Safety The main tension in last year's "AI 2027" scenario was that of speed vs. safety in an environment of badly aligned incentives. Corporations and nations are all competing in what they see as a winner-takes-all race to AGI. I'd argue we're already there, the choices have been made, and we're go for AI progress at-all-costs: the essential components of the "Race Ending" that envisions us all ending up dead.
