a #bluetooth aware app. People that also have this app appear in your list of locations. Public info like your #instagram get sent with your picture to others. You leave a networking event with a list of people you actually met #IRL. Would you use it?
Dovetails with the idea people are so taken with data that we’re over-complicating sports.
Rudy Borgstaller, George Claydon, Malcolm Dixon, Rusty Goffe, Ismed Hassan, Norman McGlen, Angelo Muscat, Pepi Poupee, Marcus Powell, Albert Wilkinson these are the names of the 10 actors that played Oompa-Loompas in the 1971 film. 2005 used just one actor, Deep Roy. 2005 film technology took jobs

Did you know your MacBook has a sensor that knows the exact angle of the screen hinge?
It’s not exposed as a public API, but I figured out a way to read it and make it sound like an old wooden door.

wow, so many details NOT in either of the movie versions. I remember sneaking into Alive in 1993 because I was 16 and it was R. I put a summary at andrewarrow.dev/podpapyrus/s... but can remove if desired. Comes from www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1fp...

oh what do you think of this then? andrewarrow.dev/podpapyrus/s... it's a 3 hour pod cast that I could never get any of my friends to actual listen to. But this is just a summary.
Q: What if my kid is on the iPad all day and has no other interests?
A: Your job is to be a "gateway" from their digital world to the real one. Dive into their game or show, then create irresistible, real-world invitations based on that passion (building their Minecraft house with LEGOs, etc.)
Q: What if the loud iPad is a genuine safety issue, like while I'm driving?
A: Safety is the prime directive. Neutralize the danger immediately by pulling over. Calmly explain that the car cannot move while it's unsafe, and then offer a choice: volume off, or iPad away.
Q: How do I handle my kid playing the iPad at a painfully loud volume?
A: Never grab the device. State your problem ("That volume is hurts"), then offer a choice ("Would you like to lower it?"). If they refuse, use a natural consequence: calmly remove yourself from the room until the noise is gone.
Q: What if talking to them, even softly, just makes them angrier?
A: When words become fuel, go silent. Shift from being a negotiator to being a calm rescuer. Use your physical presence to offer a silent choice (holding out hand), if necessary use a "Secure Scoop" not a "Limb Grab" to carry them out
Q: But what about screaming in a public place where people are staring?
A: Your job is to be your child's ally, not the public's enforcer. The ASAP solution is to form a team and calmly exit together. Frame it as a rescue from an overwhelming place: "This is too much for us. We need to go."
Q: What if my kid is just screaming and disrupting everyone at home?
A: Don't enforce silence; solve the problem. State your own need ("That noise is hurting") and then offer a choice that respects their need to be loud. Offer a new location or a new method (scream into a pillow).
