WWIII averted for today, but who knows what fresh horrors await tomorrow? If we're lucky enough to make it to midterms, folks had better remember all of this shit at the polls.

Yeah, I dunno, man, at this point, it's kind of along "Soon my deathray will destroy Metropolis" supervillainy
I'm surprised that more English majors haven't chimed in on the media's use of further vs. farther in all of the Artemis II coverage.
As a reminder, gas is well over $4/gallon and still rising due to 2% of voters who just couldn't stomach voting for a black woman.

While many are celebrating Easter, I remain focused on a more secular holiday: Happy #FirstContactDay to those who dream of a future far brighter than the present. 🖖🏻
Star Trek The Search for Spock scene. Our Lord Spock is pictured in a white robe. He stands surrounded by his shipmates who are all older here than they were in the TV show. Sulu is smiling and touching Spock's chest for some reason. Uhura, Chekov, Scotty, and Bones stand close and all seem thrilled to see him, but are otherwise practicing self control and not feeling his chest. Despite being surrounded by friends, Spock is staring only at Kirk, for obvious reasons.

Back from vacation and a week-&‐a-half away from news and social media. Did I miss anything?
Looking back, there was no greater warning sign of Paramount's waning interest in Trek than the cancelation of The Ready Room in 2024. You don't sideline your best brand ambassador if you're serious about the future of the franchise.
Emily Gregory just won the District 87 Special Election in Palm Beach County yes, that Palm Beach County, home to Mar-a-Lago. Your votes did that. Thank you for voting!
I will absolutely think less of you as a person if you post excitement over the new Harry Potter series.
Let’s all remember to purchase the Starfleet Academy comic series which debuts on April 15th.
The only positive is that we've got 2½ more seasons of Trek that have yet to air, so we've got that to look forward to before the current era comes to a close.
Like Prodigy, I feel like Academy wasn't really given a chance. I've seen plenty of ads for every police procedural & Yellowstone-spinoff Paramount has to offer, but damned if I've seen any real marketing for Trek.
We've had a good run of Star Trek during the Kurtzman era & there isn't a single series that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. The writing's on the wall, though, & it's clear Skydance has zero interest in continuing with streaming Trek.

The NecronomiBall returns!
A thing that’s fun to think about is that when it happens it will be a GLOBAL celebration. Like there will be video from around the world of people dancing and laughing and singing
So... CBS has a NecronomiBall?
I won't dignify the tweet by reposting if here, but JFC, our president is a vile POS.

“I don't think folks fully realize just how many people stick in awful jobs they hate, just to keep health insurance. There's a reason big companies have spent billions fighting universal health care even though it would save them trillions in premiums.” - via berniegirl67_3
They definitely bantered. It honestly might be the best Trek panel I've seen. They spent a full 45 minutes riffing off one another to the point where there was no time for Q&A, and I don't think anyone in the audience even minded.
I had the opportunity to see the two of them at a local con a couple of years ago, and their panel (which they completely hijacked from the moderator) was exactly how they are on the podcast.

Sorry, but when you say "metal bending", home improvement is not what springs to mind.
Sounds like your +1 didn't understand the assignment.
