There is kernel of truth in that, local grids weren’t initially designed with solar/EV’s in mind, some of the equipment is old, it depends on wether they have upgraded the local grids, they could do a simple enquiry to find that out.

They either don’t want to, or don’t know how too.

Whilst it’s true many cases get lighter sentences than the public expect, those are usually down to mitigating factors, case complexity, how remorseful the person is and plea deals etc.. nuance is key here.

Many years ago, I was a depot/warehouse and they used to get “random” H&S inspections, they was given notice, usually 2-3 days, enough to get things in order, the people would come in, do their thing and then bugger off, then work practices would return to “normal”

Reminder: The UK has higher fleet share and EV adoption than the EU.

Never saw that in the movie🫢

Labour, The Greens, whoever can bring in all the workers rights they want, its makes little difference unless there are resources for continued proactive enforcement.

UK authorities, rely on compliance more than anything else, whilst that worked in the past, it’s no longer the case now.

Were there similar problems on other space missions?

Only if you are stupid enough to eat it or let your child do so, in the UK there has only been death attributed to a toy in the kinder egg, that was child under age limit of which you a supposed to let them have it, bad parenting got the child killed

One of my children says I’m boring..😑

Little do they know I used party to 4AM at the weekends and still be at work for 9AM like a boss.

That’s speculation. Labour did propose major investment, but energy infrastructure takes years to deliver. The UK has still expanded renewables significantly—Brexit didn’t stop that, even if it shifted priorities

Makes sense, more efficient to do so I’d imagine,

Yes, incredibly so, mixture of reasons why, independent innovation, lawfully acquired research, suspected stolen I.P rights etc.., proper dedicated governmental policy not burdened but short-termism our democracies.

Personally, I think it’s worth the risk getting closer to China

Honestly, I’m not sure,

3 days ago 1 0 1 0

Scale isn’t the same as % of energy Grid, China’s energy Grid is still only 30-35% renewables, UK & EU’s grid is higher on 45%

Obviously MPs should still be able to choose who they recruit, hire and fire etc. But in the same way as managers in a professional org can, not as inexperienced and occasionally tyrannical small business owners.

3 days ago 52 6 3 1

Agree on the first half, strongly disagree on the second: MPs' offices need to be employed by Parliament and have appropriate HR, back offices, etc.

Lots of MPs are truly terrible employers and minor horror stories still abound. Centralised employment reduces 'expenses' and fixes much.

Calling reality ‘shilling’ just exposes you don’t understand the system you’re arguing about.

3 days ago 0 0 0 0

Pointing out reality isn’t anti-renewables. The UK isn’t going from gas to 100% clean overnight—industry, heating and backup still rely on it. Even with massive investment, scaling nuclear, grids and storage takes years, not months. Wanting secure supply during that transition isn’t the problem
