1. Add the head.
2. Add the right arm holding a flail made of the egg-beater parts.
3. Close the front of the torso and sculpt something cool there.

This Havoc (?) missile launcher was already magnetized. So I just added a magnet on the Defiler's right shoulder to mount the launcher. Now I don't have to worry about it breaking off.

I am not worried about making the Defiler WYSIWYG. I am just adding as many weapons as possible! I added the Reaper Autocannon and the heavy flamer on the front lower crab arms. Both weapons raise/lower on their mounts.

I am doing some more work on the Defiler tonight. After removing the autocannon mount that was the right arm, I needed something to cover the hole. I found this tank hatch in my #bitsbox that was the right size.

Here is the Defiler as it is currently. The front 2 legs are posable at the elbow. The waist and left shoulder are posable. The left arm now sports the battle-cannon.

I used some #greenstuff putty to cap the end of the extended battle-cannon and build up the elbow. I also used some to thicken the shoulder joint to hide the magnet.

The Defiler's shoulder didn't move because the inside was a lump of sprue bits and superglue. Likely because I built all the arm options, but the model only had 2 shoulder joints. I rebuilt a moving shoulder with brass rod and plastic conduit.

I did some more work on this #chaos Defiler tonight. The lower body had a big gap, so I glued it and used clamps to press it together until the glue set.

I separated both the battle-cannon and the egg-beater with the saw, then glued the cannon barrel and the egg-beater base to a piece of plastic tube. It will become the lower part of the left arm. It will need some green stuff to fashion the elbow.

While the Defiler's base was drying, I was able to remove the Reaper Auto-cannon arm without damaging it. I like the Reaper, I will reposition it as a shoulder-mounted weapon (on top, not in place of an arm) or something.

Next, I affixed the lower body of the Defiler to the base. I added a tactical rock with some styrofoam and pieces of slate because one of the legs would not reach the ground. Then I used some PVA glue and ballast to texture the base.

I also magnetized the Defiler's waist so the torso can be removed or repositioned.

Next, I magnetized both the torso shoulder joint and the arm. The magnets I used are strong but a bit thick, so I will need to build up the shoulder on the arm-side with some greenstuff later.

I was able to crack open the torso and extract the battle cannon. Then I reattached the torso side. You can also see the 150mm oval base I got online, since this model needs one for stability.

Also, what is up with this melee weapon? I have heard this called a #Chaos egg beater, and they weren't wrong. This needs an update. But enough criticizing the model, I actually really like the crab-centaur design of the Defiler.

I am not a big fan of the belly-mounted battle cannon, so I will move it to someplace else. Also, why is the Defiler's neck the shoulders of a CSM? Is its head just a big, inflated CSM head? I will change that too.

I tried to make a light green wash. I was hoping it would mute the camo scheme and tint the ivory a bit. Luckily, I tested it before going all in, because it did not work the way I wanted. I ended up just painting it over the ivory patches.
