I can't resist posting the #BirdOfTheDay alt theme of #RareEncounters. To this day, this is the most thrilling rare encounter I've ever had: a highly endangered Spotted Owl in #Marin #California that I stumbled across on a hike about a year ago. 🪶

#BirdOfTheDay today is #Warbler #Warblers. They flit around so much and are so small that it is more a matter of selecting from the very few photos I actually have in focus than anything else. So I bring you a Wilson's Warbler, singing his little heart out at Marin Headlands. 🪶

I live in Greenbrae but my cat goes to the vet in Fairfax. Whenever I go there, it's always like Richard Scarry's Busytown, with kids and adults on bikes and skateboards, lots of pedestrians, busy shops with people outside eating and drinking. Just a fun, unpretentious village square feel.

Ah, that's not a place I've ever hiked: I'm in mid-Marin and generally hike the Marin Municipal Water District suite of trails here: Mt Tam, Phoenix Lake, Lake Lagunitas, Bon Tempe Lake, Bald Hill, King Mountain
