Excellent point! I've mainly encountered 'armature' in sculpture, as the supporting, load-bearing, skeleton.
Usually internal rather than external, but load-bearing, permanent and hidden are the characteristics I see in armatures.[nicely carrying to metaphoric use]

Given the apocalyptic language in the news and the highly remote but non-negligible possibility that the end of the world is nigh, I would just like to reiterate my support of The Enlightenment. Largely failed in its aims but I cannot think of a better alternative. Science, truth, reason, etc.
Also symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency amæmia. Look out for somebody taking metformin for type II diabetes.
In particular, somebody high on the Big 5 dimension of Consciousness.
If someone forgets to take the metformin from time to time, the deficiency may not be so severe.
Is is a distinction?
Mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani, the first woman to ever win the Fields Medal, was educated at Sharif. I hope the people who have pushed for Iran’s international isolation in the name of Iranian women might speak out about this but I won’t hold my breath.

I, mainly, read Hegel wrong now, as before.
He undermines his own claim to understanding mind by arguing mind constructs reality.

It seems very peculiar to introduce telos into biological classification.
Teleology is bunk, because it relies on the post-hoc, ergo propter hoc fallacy. The great power of evolution is to provide the alternative to telos, which is a purely human metaphysical myth.
Her chapter on 'potted thinking' with the 1930s as a background, is still, sadly highly apt today.
It still isn't easy to avoid - has Trump, perhaps helped the world to understand, again, the vital importance of International Law, Human Rights, and why War Crimes are so needing of punishment?
Making decisions based on moral principles doesn't make all decisions easy but basing them on whatever you think is expedient at a give time is guaranteed to tie you in knots.
Plus, you have to have moral principles in the first place.
“Do not hurry to tear down what you oppose, lest you be forced to rebuild it with your own hands.”

That is interesting. It's a curious choice of just four fallacies, but, if they were truly able to get students deeply to internalise the danger of the sunk cost fallacy, they could transform lives.
I'm sceptical. It usually creeps up silently, rather than openly revealing its hand.
It's fascinating how many traditions understand 'ego death', 'Fana' in Sufism, and the importance of identity dissolution.
I think they are all going for similar modes, harmonics, or quasi-stable fractal states, of the default mode network [DMN].

The OED establishes that 'alogical' has a long pedigree, even in this sense.
That formal fallacy is meant to be a simple demonstration of how a very short, simple argument can defeat the alogical.
It's much worse when you get a few dense paragraphs of argument.
They usually aren't clear-cut; you need logic to cut through the undergrowth & spot lurking tigers.
Precisely! Perfectly expressed.
It's not a new expression, but it has become very much more used, particularly across the pond, in recent years.
If you have no knowlege of formal logic, you can't tell the soundness of argument.

Why, exactly, did they find that? Were there any red flags that suggested this was likely?
Still, that it is only 2% is encouraging.
