Such a great gig, so much fun!
Sorry we didn't get to see you after, had to run for a train.
You can always rely on Outlook to mess with your space mission
Love this, and loving the double jump boost!
Need Safari/AppleMail to hurry up and support all this so i can play with it in some emails
I know what you're thinking.
"Hey Mark that's a Commodore PET, that wasn't released until 1977 and didn't have the ability to send email"
Yeah, well it looks cooler than a DEC PDP-10 on a t-shirt, stop being so pedantic, it's called creative licence and no one will notice unless you point it out.
Mark stood in a sunny garden wearing a cream t-shirt with a faded 1970's style print of a Commodore PET computer. Below is the text Email est. 1971 in a groovy style font. On the computer screen it says: @SNDMSG TO: TOMLINSON@BBN-TENEXA CC: SUBJECT: TEST MESSAGE: QWERTYUIOP ^D
Hey look, I deigned myself a new t-shirt with an email on it. Because I like email.
I'm gutted i missed it :(
i had to go and sit on a beach in the sun with a cold beer and some tapas otherwise would have been there with bells on.
I've been using flex as a progressive enhancement for columns for a while and it works well. But thinking I want to push some things further, let me know any cool tricks you have or any ideas of things I could explore.
Ok I've done another video.
Hey #EmailGeeks did you know over 80% of email clients support using grid and flex.
That is true but it's clickbate, it's not quite as exciting or useful as it sounds, but I think there is still potential to do something cool with it.

How am I only just finding this podcast, great discussions and looks like a great whisky too 🥃 😆
Love this! I always get confused.
OK, I was pretty sceptical but i have to admit, I really loved @syntax.fm Mad CSS. I feel like I'm going to get a little too into this as this progresses 😆
Was such a great talk, I think the simplicity of this line and the delivery of it were both just perfect.
Yeah hopefully I'll make it to web day out, but if not there then somewhere 😄
Sorry I had to run off before the #SotB26 after party. Fatigue is hitting me very hard today. My pacing app is blowing up.
Back in Shoreham now. Was great seeing everyone and meeting loads of new people.
Until next time folks x
Loved this talk.
I think I might have to borrow this, replace a space with a line break idea for our email minification. Outlook also doesn't like long lines of text.
Mike Hall on stage at State of the Browser with a slide in the back that says "Performance is accessibility"
! #Sotb26
Oh nice, I should be on that too. I'm in Shoreham now so getting the Victoria train then jumping over to that one somewhere around Burgess Hill / Haywards Heath.
Hope to see you on there.
Very much looking forward to #SotB2026 tomorrow, that came round fast!
Very much dreading the early start for the long trek up north to the big city.
Hope the trains wake up in time.
I was going to upload this video here too but it's over 100mb and I can't be bothered to compress it, so sharing the LinkedIn version.
Anyway, here is a quick and cheesy video on Google force-dark mode and how I try and work with it in email.

Amazing, be good to catch up. I'll definitely see you at State of the browser, and hopefully at web day out too (but not got my ticket yet).
Maybe more, it's a great list of events.
Great article.
Spoiler alert #EmailGeeks yes, you do still need it for your layout tables. But this is a good read to help understand how it it all works a bit better.

I made this "ad" for one of Cursor's recent features.
It finally solves the terrible problem of knowing CSS.
Love the idea, we just had our company summit in Lisbon over the first week of January. Much cheaper and less likely to have conflicting plans at this time of year. Was a lot of fun.
Only issue is, a lot more cold and flu at this time of year and quiet of few of us got ill off the back of it.

🎉 Live from the CSS WG F2F: We just agreed to support multiple borders and outlines per element, comma-separated!
But we can’t decide on the order: inside out or outside in?
What feels more natural to you, A or B?
(it needs to be the same across borders and outlines or different box-sizing values)
For me I see it as outside in.
If I'm reading left to right, I see white, black. Then look at the left side of the border I see white, black.
Not sure that logic holds when thinking about reading right to left or top to bottom. Code is always ltr so I think it does but I could be wrong.
To be clear, I'll be part of the live email optimisation session.
I'm not just talking about my eating habits.
