Tom’s work shows GPI-anchored protein sorting occurs independently of GPI insertion signals, hinting at alternative sorting logic at the parasite surface.

For example: a comment on gene cgd5_3570 on CryptoDB pointed out that GGC proteins exhibit male-specific expression according to single-cell RNA seq. Good to know!
