I don't think we talk enough about the effect of art on us. I can see one drawing I really really like and I'll be happy for the rest of the day I'm not exaggerating. Your art makes someone feel that way. Your art makes someone happy. Your art helps someone get through the day.
Original landscape oil painting by Tisha Mark, "With Light, We'll See It Through" 20"x16" oil on linen (2025). A loosely painted landscape with a dark, tree-lined body of water underneath a brilliant orange-toned sunrise sky. Light from the sky is reflected in the water below.
Something hopeful for your evening.

Photo of a hand holding an original seascape oil painting by Tisha Mark, "Soft Peaceful Sunset No. 2601" 3"x3" oil on Arches oil paper (2026). A textured seascape painting with a light blue sky with orange sunset clouds over a dark blue sea with a rocky shore. Color from the sky reflects in the water below. A paint palette with puddles of oil paint, a paintbrush, and a palette knife are visible in the background.
Tiny and peaceful.

Original seascape oil painting by Tisha Mark, "Adrift" oil on Ampersand Gessobord, 8"x6" (2026). This loosely painted seascape painting is monochromatic (black & white) and vertically oriented. There are textured cloud formations over land formations and water. There is much texture throughout the painting.
More adventures working with Payne's gray and titanium white. Using value and texture to express how I'm feeling about a particular moment.

New over here so introducing myself with some commentary on Artemis II!
I’d like to introduce you all to a brilliant Iranian-American poet: Pantea Amin Tofangchi - whose first collection in 2023 (Glazed With War) chronicles her childhood amid the Iran-Iraq War: masonjarpress.com/chapbooks-1/...

"What do you expect them to do?" I expect someone who I voted for and has way more power and money than me to represent me and go be an obnoxious ****ing roadblock. A wrench in the fascist engine.
If I were a senator or congressperson, I would not be on social media right now. Actually, I would be on social media. I would be live in an airport or on a train while on my way back to the Capitol to hold a sit-in with as many colleagues and camera crews as possible over this ****.
Beautiful work, Jay
Large impressionist painting of a swirling orange yellow and red nebula at the bottom and upper right , some white clouds above it on a blue black background with tiny little bastard stars all over.

i keep thinking about an iranian girl who was featured in the new york times a few months ago. she said she didn’t know how she would be able to evacuate because she couldn’t carry her cats.

Digital drawing of a rice's whale underwater.
I recently learned about this whale, Balaenoptera ricei, Rice’s whale or the Gulf of Mexico whale. They’re critically endangered- depending on sources, there could be less than 50 living today. I felt compelled to do a quick drawing of one!

Monet painted over 200 paintings of water lilies from his garden in Giverny. Each painting captures a different color and mood of reflected light. When I visited Monet's garden in person last year, I was inspired to paint his water lilies in different colored light as well. Any guesses which North American bird I'm painting from based on this tail? #SciArt #WorkInProgress
