what is wrong with me that I looked at Web Restaurant Store, saw a listing for 6 whole 60-ounce cheesecakes for 150 dollars, and thought "Hmm, yes, that IS tempting."
So now I guess a lot of them are now realizing "Aw shucks, I still have to pay a real person to do this job"
Every time I've tried to use an AI feature out of pure curiosity, it turns out it's mediocre at best, even at simple things. It might be fine for bouncing ideas off of, but waaaaay too many people were in too much of a hurry to just straight up replace employees with it.
It amazes me that companies were eager to throw an LLM, a technology still frankly in its infancy, directly into production where it was never intended to be used (like customer service)... and then acted baffled when it turned out it's not actually very good at that job!
Then when it's action time, they throw their cloak back and you get their sci-fi suit and whatever armor they might be wearing.
I've come to really enjoy the thing Cendarii have going for them with their big huge all-covering cloaks. You can't really see what's under there, sometimes a little hand will reach out, but you usually don't get a good look otherwise. They look like little fantasy wizards.
