Nope, no matter what format I post it in it gets flagged by automod. Whether I link to kickstarter or the website or neither, image or link or text post, no difference. What a cesspit of a sub it is to accept all this bitching about minor racism-enforcing news and nothing about actual Aussie shit.

The pup cup in question.
A person in glasses is holding a tiny cream-coloured chihuahua that is wearing a red knit sweater and a soft vest harness. The tiny dog has drops of milk in its beard and smears across its forehead. It looks content and is sitting with its little feet tucked in like a loaf cat.
It's Queenie's birthday! ๐ฅณ
Our little pocket wolf was born really premie and they didn't think she'd live. When we got her at 7mo she was so timid and sickly. But after a lot of time, $$$ and love, she is thriving.
Here she is after putting her whole head in her birthday pup cup.
A triple-i initiative promo tile - similar to the ones the showcase uses to preview showcase entries - has been composed here in satirical form. This version reads "Yarn Spinner games in the triple-i initiative" and shows a sort of graph with game thumbnails. In 2024 there was one game: The Rogue Prince of Persia. In 2025, two: No, I'm Not Human and Moonlighter 2. In 2026, there will be three: Rift of the Necrodancer, Romestead and a third which is redacted with the caption "World Premiere". A fourth column has been added for year "???" which implies the graph will keep going up year-on-year. A silly small text disclaimer on the side reads "Note: may not represent reality. Yarn Spinner accepts no responsibility for bad maths or future predictions".
The number of Yarn Spinner games in the @iii-initiative.bsky.social showcase has grown year-on-year. One can only assume that by the year 2059 the entire showcase will be YS games. Prove me wrong.
In the meantime, why not tune in 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 6pm CEST to check out this year's offerings! ๐

Yeah, but a similar factor exists in Marathon in the form of contracts that don't require exfil.
If you non-free kit into Arc you can suicide run to grab one item but it will cost you your gear. If you free kit into Marathon you can suicide run to achieve objectives and it'll cost you nothing.

The idea that all Raiders end up back in the same place at the end of the day really does make it feel less hostile. "See you back in Speranza", we laugh as we down each other.
As opposed to fighting some deathless, timeless shell who has forgotten all fear and is here to frolic in a mass grave.
... pushes back the inevitable point all extraction games hit where a growing proportion of players have run out of progression so they have nothing better to do than join matches to just hunt people down.
So, who knows? But I'm having a great time with it, and I know a lot of others who are too.
Well, socially it's unlike ARC bc that "bigger enemy" aspect is gone so there's no incentive to be peaceful with other teams, ever. Runners have all these powers and massive healing potential so it's just too dangerous.
But the mandatory seasonal resets and greater focus on quests I think ...
It gets compared to ARC Raiders a lot bc that was the latest in the extraction genre but Marathon has more progression you can do even if you never extract. And in ARC Raiders the humans are kind of a chaos element to fighting big bots who are the actual danger; in Marathon, humans are the danger.
Haters would say the imperfect balancing inherent to PvP matchmaking having such an impact on your ability to win matches or progress quests is demoralising. Fans would say that randomness and chaos and difficulty is the fun.
I'd say the biggest decider is having a premade fireteam and good comms.
It's a bit love-it-or-hate-it I think. It's a great world, great lore, great look, great polish and I think overall great implementation of an idea that just meshes with some people and not others. It is all PvPvE, with no option to properly avoid either of those aspects.

Getting to $100k in this campaign would mean we can start creating longform videogames writing, beautifully illustrated, before the magazine drops later in the year. I don't know what the giant moon is doing !!!
Screenshot of partial dialogue from the references part of the story. Reads "I'm just so nervous to tell people. I've been trying all these years and I always feel stupid. So I get real nervous every time. And the printer prints it weird and it's all blocky and fuzzy when you print it out, so it looks stupid."
There are so many parts which touch on the point or pointlessness of things--time, meaning, the concept of waste--but the part that struck me was in Chap. 20 when Tim apologises for his shitty printer. He's just trying to make sense of everything, and all he needs is someone else to get it.
