Rosebuds 2/3 - Tall Order

Good morning from Pen & Ink
Seeing Rosebuds in newspapers allows me to check and change things most people wouldn't notice.
This week I made the lettering bigger, and it's made a world of a difference.
I send them a 6.5" CMYK tiff file of the dailies (that's the size they get printed at in newspapers).
I work incredibly large, my final strips are 20"-25" in length at 600dpi. I send them both color and B&W versions of every strip because newspapers print either one or the other.
Nothing's stopping you! Reach out to your local newspapers and see if they'll carry your comic! You'd be surprised how supportive local media can be!
I do it as much as I can. Every Rosebuds comic goes through 2-3 filters before submitting it for the newspapers and even then, I do post-reviews to see how they look in print and how I can improve on future comics.
It's such a night and day difference! I work on these comics at 20" in length and it's neat to see how it looks when it's resized to 6.5" for print. But that also comes at the cost of not realizing how small things may get when I work so big.
Also got this really nice message from a newspaper editor recently 🥹

I still consistently do! I make these Pen & Ink comics for a magazine publication.
Just with how much focus Rosebuds gets around here it's hard to find a window to share them online.

The art at the beginning of Sunday comics are called "Throwaway Panels" and they're used because some newspapers don't always print the full Sundays, so some panels are made to be disposable, so they don't intersect with the main comic.
Here's a full Rosebuds Sunday vs. How a newspaper prints it.
