Oh no you've reminded me I'm months late in redoing these profiles 🙀

Wikipedia snippet: On March 6, 2026, Lycos announced that their services, specifically Angelfire and Tripod, were experiencing temporary outages in a note on their frontpage.[6] Later that day, the message was updated to say "To our users of Angelfire and Tripod. We apologize for the service interruptions. Unfortunately we will be shutting down in the next 30 days. Please move your hosting to another host as soon as possible."[7] The message was removed from the homepage shortly after, without further official statement from the company.[8]
Hey if you still have an Angelfire or Tripod site, or if you like one, now is the time to back it up, like, urgently
Mark Evanier has had a large amount of original comics art stolen from his home; there's a list at this link. If you're involved in buying or selling art, please circulate it.

So the entire day's a loss. Especially since being NASless means no access to research data.
But I'm conserving morale by repeating "e legal, feels like being back in Brasil". 😼
Some dimwit killed the building's power for a while, and both elevators are out.
I've had to drag my disabled arse up 8 floors three times, haven't fixed all the electrics yet, and won't fire up the NASes again until I'm 100% sure the incident is 100% over in a 100% sort of way.
L'avantage, c'est qu'on a investi de quoi sauver dix fois la planète dans une machine à faire semblant d'écrire. Machine qui expliquera éternellement à ces gens qu'ils ont raison et les renforcera dans leurs délires.
I once attended the GDC back when I lived in the US, to see what I could do. And just ran into a wall of exhaustion and disorientation.
Couldn't get shit done or make any friends.
Con environment can quickly overwhelm the senses and social energy, yeah. It's unworkable for a lot of ND folks.
Et on se la cogne à Nantes comme conseillère municipale + métropole. 😾
(Elle était 2ème ou 3ème de liste, même si ils ont perdu on y échappait pas).
Hi do you like my picture
Not really feeling like posting an update for the super-geeky website due to World Events(tm).
Though I'll mention that the USAid program cuts alone have killed at least three times as many people as Hiroshima + Nagasaki (and counting), without any consequences for any important person.
We simply don't have enough space to repost this. We're boxed in.
Just realised that, in one of our Planetary profiles, I once accidentally called Elijah Snow "John Snow".
I guess I know noting.
Comic cons, I got beef. Five times now in the last year I’ve been invited to participate in a panel. I write back that I’m disabled but would be happy to attend virtually and not ONE of you bother to respond back to me. Somebody have the decency to treat the disabled comics community respectfully.
I think it's very important to process and post good pictures on the Internet.
Otherwise, where will the sloppers, engagement farmers and bottom feeders steal their iconography from ?
A striking painting of DC Comics' Black Canary in her vintage costume, by Alex Ross. As usual with him, he manages a photorealistic rendition of a comic book character in a way that feels right and credible. She had her arms crossed and a haughty air, prolly because Oliver once again said something stupid. Dump him, girl.
One of the pictures I prepped when refurbishing our oldest #BlackCanary #TTRPG stats some time back.
I don't think there was a hi-def version of this Alex Ross painting on the Internet. So I took care of business.
The only holidays I allow myself are the firsts of May and of January, so I excel at forgetting those of the various countries I work with...
Refurbished our character profile for DC #Comics' Blue Bowman, and split it from the main Signalman entry.
Signalman used this identity against #Batman but once. But since the costume and gear are different, a separate profile is clearer.
Pictures, #TTRPG stats, story recap, trick arrows, etc.
Just remembered (and verified) that Easter Monday isn't a holiday in the US, so I guess I should post an update.
(The "slop" part is supposed to be sung to the tune of Monty Python's spam anthem, disregard if not old).
Every months I take a quick look at backlinks toward writeups.org.
Apparently, the new thing is IG or TikTok videos with a clickbait title plus entirely unrelated text from a website (say, ours). Plus, presumably, stolen and/or generated video or sound, I haven't checked.
Slop SLOP slooop slooooop
I got to write the words "post-Atlantean ritual Moon magic". So it's not paid, but at least it's fun.
Got an email from Adobe saying that they were nearly doubling the cost of my creative cloud subscriptions and adding a bunch of Gen AI dogshit I didn't ask for!
If you don't want to get charged you have to log in and downgrade to a "standard" plan that's just the fuckin apps.
Just as I start researching Marvel Comics' Morgan le Fay, a LS comes out with an important bit about her past.
Coincidence or witchery ?
Thankfully, the last issue of Wiccan's Witches' Road is due at the end of the month, so it's not gonna delay me too badly.
(It's witchery, BTW).
Checked my Leila Taylor (Falcon's girlfriend during the 1970s) character profile to see whether I had written something stupid due to exhaustion.
I didn't quite find something stupid caused by exhaustion. So I'm more convinced than ever therein lies, hidden, something stupid caused by exhaustion.
And her name is Sandahl Bergman, of course, of course.
Heads up GitHub users. You have less than a month left to opt out of "Allow GitHub to use my data for AI model training".
"On April 24 we'll start using GitHub Copilot interaction data for AI model training unless you opt out." github.com/settings/cop...
(Looks at research notes)
OK, this Morgan le Fey writeup is gonna be quite a ride.
... and now I remember issue #1 with Marvel's La Fée Morgane. Which is "define 'Avalon'" and "define 'time'".
I wrote about these in the series about Prester John, which has lots of fairly deep-dive Marvel #Comics lore. Featuring lots of coolness by Jack Kirby, Mark Gruenwald, Matt Fraction...
Fantastic.
