The fact that you did this is a big accomplishment! Once you get your mic, you'll be pretty much set. A lot of what we think you need to have a proper narration set up is an illusion.

Yes, getting a better mic will definitely pick up ALL the sound. My HyperX picks up every-damn-thing, even my thoughts, 😆 but you can control it with the right app. The noise gate function is God-sent.

...But using that mic and Logic Pro makes a big difference in the sound engineering aspect. The functions they offer make it sound like I recorded in a professional studio. I'm still learning the ins and outs of everything, and there are still challenges to overcome, but I'm getting there! 😄

As for my setup, I have a little writing nook near a closet in our guest bedroom, so I hung a heavy curtain over the opening and turned it into a makeshift booth. Also, I invested in a HyperX mic...mainly because it lights up. Things that light up are an easy sell for me 🤩...

...After putting so much time into learning GarageBand (the learning curve is not that steep, but it was a challenge), shifting to Logic Pro just made sense since it's basically an advanced version of the same app. That's part of the advantage of being an Apple girlie.

I've heard really good things about Audacity! A lot of pro narrators mentioned it when I was researching apps. I already had GarageBand on my computer, so I started there. I didn't think it would work well given that it's made for musical artists and bands, but I was pleasantly surprised...
