Hi Dave, James here. You probably get pitched a lot of scripts - and most take time to read before you even know if they're worth it. We built Xpressify, an Al-powered platform that reads and analyzes film & TV scripts for you - offering concise coverage, summaries, and actionable feedback so you can spot quality material faster. We're giving producers like you access to try it for free. Would you like to see how it reads one of your projects?
Today, this guy followed up with “any thoughts?” And I wrote a whole paragraph back describing how insulted I was but then realized engaging just means they’ll mark my email as active on whatever list they bought it on. Anyway, JUST READ THE SCRIPTS.

Rot. I’ve been thinking a lot about rot.

Very normal news times once again.

The curse of the Marquis De Sade by Joel Warner
It is not a long book, but a good book. Side view of it being not thicc
Three part non-fiction story in one narratives not too long either. Really enjoyed it.
The coffee giant won't extend these benefits to its unionized stores, as it continues engaging in some of the most egregious and rampant union busting in modern US history.

And this whole time I’ve been bleeping “fuckin’” on the YouTube shorts. You’re telling me I’ve censored my own presidential language?
On Dad Duty, but SUPER MARIO GALAXY retraining 91% of its predecessor's domestic opening weekend (around $188 million over five days versus $205 million) is excellent. Ditto THE DRAMA with A24's third best opening day and now on course to nab its third or fourth biggest opening weekends ever.

This cartoon didn’t rock but I had it on VHS so I watched it a LOT.
Only nine now!
I’m so sad this came out like 2 weeks after I guided Neil through his first watch of the Hannibal series for @da7eandneil.bsky.social because the excerpts have been so informative
I love this reaction. I think it has a short story premise with a cinematic execution. The performances and editing shine for that reason
I was a huge fan of 24
Yo, THE DRAMA plays with its target audience who showed up mostly to see hot people. Chuckles, laughs, gasps. Throughout. Then when we were leaving, no joke heard a girl ask a guy what the worst thing they’ve ever done was. No one’s leaving Mario Galaxy asking about sin.
I fondly remember debriefing with Mike immediately, perhaps too loudly, at the after party.
It would just be me ripping off 60 Songs that Explain the 90s with my Talkboy providing the tape sounds.
Jack Black betrayed his best friend on stage to save his bag and Charlie Day slapped on a shit eating grin and stood on business.
It's Super Luigi Brothers now.

NO WAY
We’re having another year tracking new books read in my household and audiobooks count so I’m walkin’ and listen’ a lot this year. But also reading more in general!
I have picked my last three audiobooks up from Libro’s sale section. I have spent more money of coffee listening to books on walks than the audiobooks themselves. 💜
If by some chance you are a real person that sees this, Lisa, email me back with your own words and we’ll talk.
Hey Dave, I couldn’t get enough of this week’s episode; it was a blast hearing Da7e unpack The AI Doc’s vibe-heavy structure and the group’s Academy Awards banter, especially everything outside that wild Sinners vs One debate. Your take on the pulse of the industry always draws out fresh directions in film and culture.
Hilarious. The AI agent digested @fitwr.bsky.social and its description then proceeded to think me (Dave) and me (Da7e) were different people. It also makes it sound like we debated Sinner’s versus Creed’s early single One.
Anthropic discovering that copyright is, in fact, good, and other people shouldn't steal your stuff, actually.
