I am almost done my painting "Science." My last steps will involve removing all the blue tape protecting the frame, waxing the frame and then building the boxes to hold the work.

Jeannette Rankin was the first woman to win a seat in the House of Representatives and was sworn in on April 2, 1917.
When then president Wilson called for war with Germany, Rankin said ""I wish to stand for my country," she said, "but I cannot vote for war."
This woman had courage!

I would like to honor Heather Heyer, who marched in the protest against the Unite the Right event. She died after white supremacist James Alex Fields Jr murdered her by hitting her with his car.
This small work , 12"x12", was painted shortly after this event. She is a hero.

I painted this work to remember the victims at Sandy Hook elementary school.
Sadly, today I honor the victims at t Old Dominion University in Norfolk, where one student died, two were injured and many other traumatized.

On August 12, 2017, a group of right-wing protestors gathered in Charlottesville, Virginia, to oppose the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee.
The painting depicts the moment in the rally when a neo-Nazi activist drove his car into a crowd, killing counter-demonstrator Heather Heyer.

On January 21, 2017, the day after the inauguration of President Donald Trump, between three and five million people joined the Women’s March protests across the United States.

“Roe v. Wade,” Encaustic with paper , flowers and crystals on birch wood panels, 2022
On this day in 2017, Norma McCorvey, the plaintiff "Jane Roe" in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade, died.
This painting honors her and those fighting for this admendment.
