If we want rural communities to survive and grow, we have to invest in them.

That’s just reality.

Healthcare, broadband, and local jobs make the difference.

When those are strong, communities are strong.

Small towns don’t need handouts.

They just need a fair shot.

If people can’t access basic healthcare, everything else gets harder.

That’s just reality.

Better access → healthier families, stronger communities.

Here in rural Utah, care isn’t always easy to get.

It should be.

If you’re working full-time and still can’t afford rent, healthcare, or groceries… how free are you?
That’s not politics. That’s real life.

Raising wages + tax relief for working families works.
Here in Utah, hard work should lead somewhere.
Most people aren’t asking for a handout—just a fair shot.

It works.

Here in Utah, we talk about family values—but values don’t pay for daycare.

If we want families to stay in places like Kanab or Price, we have to make it financially possible.

Otherwise, we’re losing our future.

This isn’t left vs right.

It’s whether families actually have a shot.

If families can’t afford to have kids—or take care of them—everything else starts to fall apart.

That’s not politics. That’s reality.

What helps:
• Paid family leave
• Child tax credits
• Affordable childcare

When the Child Tax Credit expanded in 2021, child poverty dropped nearly 40% in one year

Because this isn’t left vs right.

It’s whether the system works for working people.

(And yeah… childcare alone makes that pretty obvious.)

More soon.

• Strong families (leave + childcare)
• Fair wages
• Healthcare access
• Rural investment
• Smart immigration
• Family unity

Over the next posts, I’ll break these down with real data and real-world impact—especially for rural Utah.

I’ve been going through a lot lately. Not getting into it all yet, but it’s part of why I’ve been quieter.

I’m still here though—and coming back into this, maybe not every day, but with intention.

Starting a new series:

Not slogans. Not talking points. Real policies that help people.

It’s also about coming home to a party that supports values many Utahns share:
• Supporting working families
• Protecting public lands
• Strengthening rural healthcare
• Investing in public education
• Holding government accountable

If those values resonate with you, I invite you to join us.

Registration numbers shape the narrative about who Utah is and what we believe.

Registering as a Dem isn’t just about receiving a Democratic primary ballot. It’s also about building a stronger party, movement, & team — with the infrastructure needed to compete in this election and the ones ahead.

One reason is simple: the Utah Republican Party often points to our low registration numbers — about 13% statewide — as proof that Democratic ideas don’t have support here.

But election results tell a different story. In many statewide races, Democratic candidates receive closer to 40% of the vote.

Quick heads up for Utah voters: the deadline to change your party registration before the June 23 primary is April 1 at 5 PM.

In earlier posts, I encouraged people who share Democratic values to consider registering as Democrats.

War is too serious for theology experiments.

Faith belongs in personal conviction. War policy must be rooted in law and national security.

If this is false, address it clearly.
If it’s true, investigate it fully.

We owe our troops clarity. We owe the public transparency.

I’m not saying this is proven.

But if even part of it is true, that’s a serious constitutional issue.

Our military swears an oath to the Constitution — not to a president, not to a prophecy.

“US troops report commanders framing Iran war as ‘God’s plan’”
A combat-unit commander allegedly told NCOs the war is part of “God’s divine plan” claiming Trump was “anointed by Jesus” to ignite Armageddon. Over 110 complaints from 40+ units have reportedly been filed. The Pentagon has not replied.

Why are we at war?

Officially: stopping Iran’s nuclear capability.
Others say oil. China. Israel.
There’s another theory.
Earlier this week, my dad texted me & it made me think. Then I saw this reporting from The Cradle, citing journalist Jonathan Larsen & the Military Religious Freedom Foundation:

War has consequences. Americans have died. Civilians have died. This cannot become another endless conflict.

Congress must reclaim its constitutional war powers. Diplomacy first. Always.

Peace isn’t weakness. It’s wisdom.

• Courts are dismissed
• And emergency powers are floated over elections

That’s dangerous territory.

If you believe in checks and balances — speak up.

Call your senators. Email your reps. Ask them directly where they stand.

Democracy erodes in steps.

I believe elections belong to the people.

This isn’t left vs right.

It’s whether voters choose their leaders — or leaders choose their voters.

When:
• Critics are targeted
• Journalists are pressured
• Masked federal officers appear in American streets
• U.S. citizens die in controversial law-enforcement encounters

Under the Constitution, states run elections. Not the president.

Declaring emergency powers to override state election systems would be an extraordinary expansion of executive authority.

History shows: when leaders claim emergency powers over elections, democracies don’t get stronger. They erode.

Over the past few months, I’ve talked about affordability, healthcare, and accountability.

Today it’s something more basic: democracy.

There’s now talk of declaring a “national emergency” over debunked 2020 claims — potentially to justify banning mail-in ballots and voting machines.

Utah will vote under a fair map in 2026. A federal panel declined to block the court-selected map, meaning the districts chosen by Judge Gibson move forward.

This isn’t about left vs right. It’s about whether voters choose their representatives — or politicians choose their voters.

Utahns received a text from the RNC about the Prop 4 repeal petition. It warned about “paid canvassers under criminal investigation.” That claim doesn’t reflect what’s happening here in Utah.

The petition would repeal Prop 4 — the 2018 voter-approved independent redistricting commission.
