Ya’ll, I took the new train into Seattle, and met another trans girl who was also excited about the fact that we have the world’s first (technically second) train on a floating bridge and my wife called it the Trains Day of Visibility.

Supreme Court rules against Colorado ban on ‘conversion therapy’ for LGBTQ+ kids The Supreme Court has ruled against a law banning “conversion therapy” for LGBTQ+ kids in Colorado, one of about two dozen states that banned the discredited practice.

Conversion therapy is child abuse. It should be banned nationwide—and I have a bill to do just that.

I’m not going to stop fighting for a world where every person, no matter their gender or sexual orientation, can live with dignity and without fear.

Why I'm betting on ATProto (and why you should, too) Social media was supposed to connect us, but most of it has turned into ads, division, and loneliness. I'm betting on ATProto as a way to fix that, and not just for developers. Whether you're a scient...

A recap of #atmosphereconf 2026 as well as an overview of why I'm spending my very limited free time in my life betting on ATProto (and why I think you should, too!)

This isn't just for developers. This is for everyone.

Fantastic post captures a lot of why I am so excited about atproto right now. The community is authentic, very human, and interdisciplinary. Atproto is going to underpin a renaissance/explosion of social platforms built by good, caring people. An antidote to ads and algorithms uber alles.

I had an amazing time at #ATmosphereConf. What an amazing community. Lots of things to think about both technical and beyond. Everyone was so welcoming and respectful.

Thank you to everyone for letting me tag along.

I assume for Attie to be the primary interface a mobile app would be part of it.

Interesting idea -- bsky is a more traditional client and Attie ends up being a premium client with "superpowers".

I know folks have talked about making the bsky client be extensible at the UI level. This might be a great first use case? Don't know if that is something y'all are still thinking about.

For me, the barrier to building UIs makes it harder for me (as a backend kinda guy) to build on ATproto.

Ah! I see it now. Thanks! I would expect "publish!" to be a top level action. But that may be because that was what I was looking to do.

Interesting question: is attie.ai the place you go to create a feed and then use it? Or is it your client to bsky/atmosphere? Seems to be a bit of both now.

Hey Paul -- I'm still not seeing it. Did the flip not get propagated to accounts that are already created?

1 week ago 1 0 1 0

For sure -- fwiw, the audience for the announcement was a very technical audience at a conference about the underlying protocol. The Techcrunch article is also targeted at a very tech heavy audience.

But I think we can all agree that there is no segmenting these discussions.

I would have communicated this differently TBH. But cutting past that and looking at what is *really* being done shows that there is thought and care here.

If we want social media to be less toxic, we have to look past headlines and echos of info and really dig in to see what is really happening.

“Algos are always turned toward things you will interact with” - I don’t think that applies to most of the feeds on bsky. You can pick the ones that work for you. Attie has a side panel where you can see exactly what it is doing.

It isn’t THE algorithm. It’s YOUR algorithm. And only if you want it.

1 week ago 0 0 1 0

What do you mean? There are plenty of custom feeds available that are timeline algorithms! But you can pick the ones that you want. Or opt out and just look at followers.

This just expands that by letting you write your own timeline algorithm if you want. The AI is just there to help you do it.

Definitely an unpopular opinion based on the replies and quotes, but... this sounds like a cool app/feature?

Did you actually read what it does? The team is focused on building ways to fine tune what you see if you decide to use it. They are avoiding producing content altogether. No slop.

Also completely separate from current product.

I think it is a smart experiment that puts users first.

The witness doesn’t change that. It just attests to what it saw and puts a timestamp down. It’s up to clients and appviews to figure out what that means.
