Message from Github: "On April 24 we'll start using GitHub Copilot interaction data for AI model training unless you opt out. Review this update and manage your preferences in your GitHub account settings."

Just an FYI for anyone still using GitHub, you may want to disable copilot if you don't want your code snatched up. Or ideally move off GitHub entirely and switch to Forgejo for example.

A Steam AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

AI-generated voiceovers for ingame characters. This is a indie no-budget production. Sorry :-'(

I'm so sick of seeing AI disclaimers like this.

The solution to not having the budget for voice acting isn't to use AI, it's to not have voice acting at all!

Games don't need VO to be good!

By jamming in slopvoices, you're not making your game better, you're making it worse and reprehensible!

Label yourself We all take on different roles in relation to our friends, neighbors, family members, and colleagues. Keep those different roles clear in your many Signal group chats by using group member labels, now...

New: Group member labels, a way to describe yourself or your role in a group chat, only visible to that group chat.

The Linux Consumer Tech Support Gap In order to make Linux a better experience, having consumer tech support will be an important step.

We're very passionate about getting people into Linux. 🐧

However, a major roadblock is the lacking tech support in the Linux space. That's what our newest blog post is all about 👇

it's also just way easier to do tech support (I have no clue what I'm doing with windows)

This is a good part of why we recommend Linux and Mac over Windows any day of the week. Especially in light of all the recent hardware shortages and increasing e-waste, making sure that older computers still work is a massive priority for us.

its kinda crazy how you just need 2x the ram to do any of the same work in windows vs on Mac or Linux lol. Like on W11 you just need 32GB in order to just do basic everyday shit without explorer crashing, meanwhile 32GB on a Linux machine is legit 3D art workstation / smooth video edit territory

Almost 40 orgs just signed an open letter telling Google to reverse Android Developer Verification, we're one of them.

Google hasn't backed down & seems to have no intention of keeping Android open. Check out our newest video covering what's going on and what we can do: https://youtu.be/5MZfGq5F1NU
