That's it for this month, let's see what April has in store :)

Sadly, it was also the first month with declining MRR - I know it's part of the business, but Churn always hurts :(
I try to stay positive and keep pushing and improving on Vemetric - I hope better months will follow! 💪
Despite that, I'm proud that I was able to release the Vemetric Public API, which opens up many opportunities!
I also decided to continue with a CLI and MCP, because it makes sense while I'm still in the topic (they're building upon the API), and they will help with agentic use of Vemetric.
I think March was the slowest month so far for Vemetric. It was the second month of my parental leave, and I allowed myself to take some time off, which felt good, and I also needed it.
Monthly update for @vemetric.com: March 2026 🧘♂️
🌐 143 Active Projects (+9)
⭐️ 344 GitHub Stars (+6)
📈 1.236.943 Events Tracked (+411.021)
💰 $175 MRR (-$7)
the last two weeks I took a step back and made a pause, even from shipping my products
it showed me one thing: I have a memory leak in Vemetric's Backend 😂
(before, I did continuous deployments almost every day, resetting the RAM and silently hiding it^^)
today I ordered a zigbee stick, which will turn my Mac Mini into an even more powerful Smart Home hub :D
first use case will be to use an Aqara Sensor together with a Shelly, to make my garage door smart 🙌
I love this rabbit hole^^
but it feels good to let it slip. I think I already internalized to regularly share my work, and a break here and then won't destroy that .. it might even help me come up with higher quality content instead :D
yesterday I did it, after >350 days I purposefully let my posting streak end, because I'm currently in the last days of my parental leave, taking a break from building, and don't have much to say
now Typefully is even so cute and let me repair my streak, they won't even tell anyone :)
1/2
soft conversions yes (people using Vemetric on the free plan) .. but no paid conversions yet
our little claw buddy might've disappointed some people in the past weeks because it was too overhyped, but it's still a huge help if you use it correctly
OpenClaw still helps me a lot with my Google Ads for Vemetric!
it helps me keep track of the changes we make, suggests new edits, and helps me build the CSVs for manual conversion uploads 1/2
let the smart home action continue 😈
today I finished my first smart home setup (dimmable lights), openclaw helped me setting up homebridge and also integrate my ACs into apple homekit + my wife and I did the first preparations in our garden to make it ready for spring & summer
feels good to improve and work on your own home :D
time to make my home a bit more smart and I‘m starting with making my existing lights smart + dimmable :D
I don’t have much experience with these things but together with ChatGPT it’s a nice project and I‘m learning a lot!
small improvement for empty states in Vemetric: they directly let you clear filters or change the selected timeframe
now that TrustMRR supports Paddle, I was finally able to list Vemetric there as well! 🥳
sadly I'm not able to list snappify yet, as it's still on Paddle Classic 🥲

today is an intentional no-work monday
I only have two weeks of paternity leave left with my little daughter and I try to recharge my batteries and enjoy the time off
started the day playing and soaking up the moments with my daughter and now I‘m at the gym lifting weights 💪
but it only works for local agents like openclaw right? .. if you want to integrate your app into “external agents“ like ChatGPT so that users there can easily interact with your product, you have to go with a MCP?
there’s still no way around MCP when you want to integrate your product into ChatGPT and Claude right?
I‘m currently building the AI integration layer, this week I released the Rest API, now I‘m working on the CLI .. and this weeks discussions made me think again: do I really need a MCP server?
my agent telling my that I'm wrong > it's telling me that I'm absolutely right
I've used one Codex chat for over 3 weeks to create the Vemetric API
I really enjoy these long-running chats about one topic, so I can get as much value from the existing context as possible
Codex does a good job there with auto-compaction as well!
and to be honest, it's always refreshing to come back to this code base where I've poured so much time, energy, and love into .. it's still an outstandingly good product!
here and then long-year customers like @mathspp.com reach out if there's something annoying in their workflow or they are missing something, and I'm doing my best to provide them with fixes and also new features 🫡 2/3
while I'm working a lot less on snappify compared to the previous years, I still treat it as a product that is used by many (paying) users, and I want them to have a great experience 1/3
you can feel the real power of open source when people genuinely help you with their contributions!
recently there's been more activity again for Vemetric, also on our Discord server, where people also volunteer and help each other, which is so awesome 🫶
The Vemetric REST API is live! 🥳
It opens up the way for programmatic integrations with your analytics data + using it to talk about it with your agents (which will get even easier with the upcoming CLI + MCP)
thank you very much!
we invested into the safety of out kids 👌
