I’m not gonna park on Aether either. I have friends, retainers, subs, gathering, and stuff on Primal. If they could do one thing for the fucking game, please fix this. Before fancy grass shaders or ANOTHER game port. What would it even matter if we can’t even play together.

Re: last post - by long-time raid leader, I don’t mean FFXIV entirely since I started raiding XIV in Asphodelos. I was raid leading in Burning Crusade when it was not classic. I’m that old… yeah… my joints hurt…

Everyone plays the game differently and how they want. I just hope it’s fun and rewarding, not stressful and fatiguing. Maybe ask yourself if you’re being realistic? Best of luck to all of you raiders out there o7. Some of you are hardier than me. I truly hope you get those clears and glory!

I just kinda scratch my head at all these ”LFG new ultimate, clear W3-5. No later than X.” I wish you all the best. Truly. That’s a lot of raid hours in a short time. For myself, I couldn’t perform my 9-5 job well, sleep, & life. But that’s just me, and others have different things in their lives.

We cleared FRU week 12 with a break during the holidays at 12hrs/week generally. We are not super top tier gamers, but we perform well enough and learn relatively quickly.

I feel like some people are also assuming FRU level, and not something TOP, DSR, or harder. I wouldn’t put it past them to make a very hard ultimate to keep us quieter or busy during 7.5 - 8.0.

If you’re raiding 16hrs/week, that’s week 8-9. If you’re gamers and clear at 500 pulls, that’s week 5 or 6. So the people saying they want to clear the ultimate in week 3-5, I find you highly aspirational and borderline world proggers. Yes, those people are out there. But they’re not very common.

I’d categorize ourselves as semi-hardcore at 12 hrs/week, which is part time job hours, not insignificant. Let’s assume on avg, most people will clear at 800 pulls. Also assume the avg time of those pulls is 10min. That’s 133 hours of clock-ticking raid time, not counting breaks and time between.

I’m gonna rant a little, so keep on scrolling if you don’t want to hear the idle mind of a long-time raid leader… I asked myself if most raiders are super aspirational or delusional. Maybe both? #ffxiv #raid #rant
