And I guess I'm just the villain in your fairytale. But I'm not anti America. I'm anti lying about America. Big difference. This country loves to slap a band - aid over a bullet wound and call it progress. It loves the quote M. L. K. Jr. But only the lines that make white people feel comfortable. It loves to say freed them but won't even teach kids the real history behind who had it and who didn't. The problem isn't that people like me are ungrateful. The problem is that too many people are comfortable with silence. Too many folks hear the truth and immediately get defensive. Like by saying America did. This means that they personally built the plantation. But I'm not going to soften my words just to make patriotism feel good because re real love requires accountability. You ever been in a relationship where somebody refuses to say sorry no matter how bad they hurt you ? As how this country treats black people, indigenous people, poor people. And every time we bring it up, they gaslight us with the flat. So let me be clear. I want this country to do better. I want schools that teach the truth. I want a system that values life over PR. Moffett. I want justice is not just reserved for the wealthy white man. But the only way to fix a thing is to admit that has actually broken, right ? And they act like if we stopped pretending that it's all going to collapse. But the only thing that's collapsing is the illusion. But maybe that's exactly what needs to happen. So no, I'm not anti America. I'm anti lives, anti revisionism, anti gaslighting. And if that makes me the problem in your eyes, then maybe your vision wasn't that clear to begin with. Share, believe, inspire blacks be.
