Una has (correctly) predicted that she is to face the Woods and given all that she has heard of it is rightly terrified.
There are other mixed feelings in there: sadness, anger, grief, longing, etc. But dread is paramount.

Yve's managed to sort out a pretty good living in the handful of years since he fled the hospital. He rents two apartments (both tiny) and has decent clothes, and his LI Steffan owns a junkyard. But his most important assets are built into him: his nanites and his neunet.
Taryn is completely unprepared! In all fairness, she doesn't really have more than the clothes she's wearing, anyway. But she doesn't even really come armed with knowledge, either.
Fortunately, the pirates have stuff they let her use. Cordelia allows it begrudgingly.

Alexander returns to England with his wealthy family, so he's generally well-supplied. Although, every excursion he makes, he painstakingly picks the outfit, which is cute. 😄

Unfortunately, the Felcrown crew absolutely venture into the unknown unprepared. They don't think they will be doing anything risky, but it comes back to bite them - hard.
After that, they get more serious and gear up with weapons, trying to better understand their magic, etc.

At first, not really prepared beyond a few essentials - Loke goes nowhere without her massive book and Magnar without a map tube. But after the events of chapter 1, he does go shopping for more essential items for less luxurious living.

Rarkin & his syther team (Miona, Rinth & Amon) bring stun guns, as they're usually relocating stray monsters out of human zones. But when an organised crime boss goes rogue; guns & bullets.
Not much else is needed, as Sythe's motor carriages or airships ensure journeys are swift.
