Well, a new low. #BCBS NM Medicare “Advantage” paid us (with a remittance reflecting our accurate submission) and 3 days later they decided to deny the claim “because of missing modifiers” (with a remittances missing info they already showed me they did receive the first time). We only billed once.
Monopoly. It's to the point that you could make an FTC #antitrust argument about #BCBS in the state. They've done a pretty good job preventing other insurers from even attempting to enter the market.

not to mention the 3-4 weeks of time required to complete the 2 procedures. so *half the time off work* was just me “hanging out” waiting on #BCBS to approve of all of this which they will inevitably do once we play their denial & appeal game.
love missing now 2 weeks of work, but insurance says could be another 3 weeks of work, simply because insurance is denying my medical coverage on the one procedure that will return me to work. weeks of time wasted sitting in my house suffering in pain while #BCBS will inevitably approve this anyway.
I haven’t been following this, partly by choice because I am not seeing #patients this week, but this is a great thread. I agree with everything said here. And will add- because of how poorly #BCBS pays in #Michigan, we can’t keep young #doctors
