The big blue beast that is 40118 undergoing long term restoration, seen at her current home at Shackerstone on the #BattlefieldLine. It'll be a big day in diesel preservation when she returns to service. The last time I saw her was Oct 1988 at Leicester depot after asbestos removal at Vic's. 3/4/26

#MondayMorningBlues Slim Crompton 33201 departs from Shackerstone with one of the seven round trips to Market Bosworth during the #BattlefieldLine Good Friday diesel running day. We sat this one out to get this departure photo & some lunch in the charming station tearooms. 3/4/26

#SignalboxSunday this week is Market Bosworth on the #BattlefieldLine in Leicestershire. This is on the former Ashby & Nuneaton Joint Railway which was operated by the LNWR & MR. Best I can find out is that the box here is an LNWR design dating from 1898. 3/4/26

Main attraction at the #BattlefieldLine Good Friday diesel running day yesterday was the return to traffic, after repairs, of 31459. The day was used as a running in test for the goyle which was at the Shackerstone end of the TnT set. Seen here at Bosworth & Shackerstone. 3/4/26
Something rather interesting in the repair shed at Shackerstone on the #BattlefieldLine yesterday. As far as I can work out this is the former 20063 which was exported to CFD in France in the 90s & numbered 2002. Looks to have been repainted in its French orange livery. 3/4/25
Today @bennybizzle1.bsky.social & I visited the #BattlefieldLine for their 31/33 running day. 33201 on the Bosworth end & this beast, 31459, which was using the day as running in after undergoing repairs here. Both performed excellently from the enthusiasts point of view. Shackerstone 3/4/26
