Depicted is a promotional print for the 1981 movie Under the Rainbow.
It features caricatures of lead actors Carrie Fisher & Chevy Chase along with numerous little people all under a rainbow. The film, which was about the untold tale of the munchkin actors from the Wizard of Oz, is widely regarded as a huge flop. Artwork by the renowned Jack Davis, on the other hand, is almost always a hit.
Depicted is the official movie poster for the 1981 Orion pictures movie "Under the Rainbow". The poster features Bruce Thorpe (played by Chevy Chase) being held up at gunpoint by Otto Kriegling (played by Billy Barty), scantly clad Annie Clark (played by Carrie Fisher), and another little person clinging to Annie's leg. That individual might be Rollo Sweet played by Cork Hubbert, but not having seen the movie yet, don't quote me on that. Above them is a rainbow with numerous other little people walking atop it. The poster's upper caption reads, "Somewhere, Under The Rainbow - way down low - Chevy Chase, Carrie Fisher, and 150 midgets are fighting valiantly to save our country against all of Oz." A lower caption reads, "A Giant comedy - Don't sell it short!"
🌈 File this one under "Movies that Time Forgot" (and probably for good reason to boot).
