Day 7 of a month of baking was a day where I used a mix. Specifically, the mix was a “Beer Bread”, which I made into a “Not Beer Bread” by using Ginger Ale instead. It was interesting! Lightly sweetened and a flavor that tasted of butter and caramel. #breadsky #homebaker

430g Sir Lancelot bread flour
150g whole wheat

#breadsky #sourdough Hot Cross Buns from The Perfect Loaf by Maurizio Leo. They smell and look delicious - too hot to eat yet. Took two days to make and seem worth it.

The focaccia turned out great. My starter has been fed about 10 times since I started a month ago, so not yet very mature. The focaccia is my 4th sourdough loaf and the first with a noticeable sourdough tang. Very happy with progress to date.

#ryebread #breadsky #sourdough tried a recipe for sourdough rye yesterday. Realized I had dark rye flour, not light rye as specified. Tried it anyway. Overhydrated and not pretty but delicious with a satisfying crust crunch and chewy interior. Would be amazing with some cheese and beer.

A Swiss tradition on Easter Sunday: Zopf (braided bread). This one with yellow wheat, overnight cold proof, so all you need to do is heat the oven and bake it. (Pre/heated to my usual 250°C instead of 230, so crust is darker than intended).
