However to the south of the hamlet, a BMP-1 mounted Soviet MR Coy Coy has slipped away west, having bypassed the bulk of the fighting.
Despite some losses, they continue the Soviet breakthrough, racing towards the Leine River bridges and force the withdrawal of the QRIH.

With the 231st Guards Tank Battalion decisively committed around Lardmünchen, and the increasingly congested roads around and through the hamlet restricting their combat effectiveness, C Sqn, QRIH continues to grind forward reaping a terrible toll on the Soviet armour.

The lead T-64 Tank Coy breaks into Lardmünchen, and the small hamlet quickly becomes a charnel house of armour and infantry as British tanks, infantry and artillery engage the Soviets, often at point blank or danger close range. Losses mount quickly on both sides.
