Kane was a high school friend of fellow cartoonist Will Eisner and joined him at his company Eisner & Iger to draw and create comics strips for the burgeoning format of comic books. Kane is widely known at the creator of Batman, Robin & The Joker alongside writer Bill Finger for DC Comics. He was inducted into the comic book industry's Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1993 and into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1996.
