Macroaggressions are large-scale, obvious, and systematic acts of aggression or op-
pression against a group of people based on their race, culture, gender, or other characteristic.
Macroaggressions can be institutionalized in policies, procedures, and practices, and can be perpetuated by society's institutions like government, education, and cul-ture.
Examples of macroaggressions
• Gender pay gap: Women earn less than men for the same work
• Racial offensives: Policies, procedures, and practices that discriminate against people of a certain race
• Abusive acts: Institutionalized acts of abuse that target people of a certain race, culture, or gender
